FREEBIE – Glasgow 1770 Ruby Port Cask Finish

About This Competition

Back in November, the Glasgow Distillery Company unveiled three limited edition cask-finished variants of its 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The new expressions include the unpeated Ruby Port Cask Finish, the triple distilled Tokaji Cask Finish and the peated Sauternes Cask Finish. We bring you the first of this trifecta – the Ruby Port – 1 of only 467 bottles prduced.

Double pot distilled using concerto barley, this unpeated whisky was distilled on the 4th of July 2017 and initially filled into a first fill ex-bourbon cask. On the 26th of November 2020 the spirit was filled into a Portuguese Ruby Port Barrique, before being bottled at 56.2% ABV on the 29th of October 2021.

A wonderfully smooth and sweet single malt with fruity notes of strawberries, raspberries and fresh cream. The finish is long-lasting with sweet-spicy notes of pink peppercorns.
