About This Competition
he Dewar’s Double Double 21 Years sits at the higher end of this brand’s range. It’s not your average blended Scotch whisky, but instead one created through a fairly intricate blending process. Dewar’s Master Blender Stephanie Macleod developed the Double Double Series in 2019. The series takes Dewar’s traditional “double-ageing” method one step further. The intricate process is as follows:Â
- Individual malt and grain whiskies are aged separately.
- The malt and grain whiskies are each blended and returned to casks for further aging.
- The blended malt and blended grain whiskies are combined and aged again.
- The final blended whisky is finished in oloroso sherry cask
Dewar’s Double Double 21 has earned several prestigious awards including World’s Best blended Scotch in 2021 at the World Whiskies awards
