The latest limited-edition release in Glengoyne’s Oak Masters’ Series explores the character of virgin Scottish Oak. The first 15 years involved maturation in refill bourbon and refill sherry casks, followed by a carefully 2-year finished in virgin Scottish oak casks. The wood came from just five miles away in Killearn, where they were sustainably sourced. Slow-growing and harder to shape and season than American oak, virgin Scottish oak casks add structure and spice to Glengoyne’s famously slow-distilled spirit.
