Talisker 57 North

About This Competition

I imagine many of us will be heading to the rugged hills of Skye over the spring & summer, and a stop at the Talisker distillery is a definite must. You will not however find this bottle at their shop! Whilst the mighty 57 North was the distilleries longest running core release, it has now been discontinued. Becoming increasingly hard to find, keen collectors would be wise to stock up on this while they can.

This release is named after the latitude on which the distillery is located and boasts huge flavour thanks to its weighty 57.0% ABV.  I think the Whiskyphile blog captured its essence in a sentence best:

“A classic, intense Talisker that’s like looking out to sea with a storm brewing, and which becomes deeper and more approachable when water is added”

Clean and intense, with the light smoke of a struck match on the nose with its characteristic long sea salt and pepper finish. No doubt this is a hugely enjoyable expression and will be sorely missed by fans the world over.
