LEVELLER- Samaroli Caribbean Soul

About This Competition

Its been a while since we last had some Rum on the site, so for this edition of the Leveller we have a fantastic bottle from Samaroli. For those unfamiliar with the name, this legendary Italian independent bottler is known for its rare, unique and aesthetically stunning whiskies and rums, many of which smash records at auction. Established as an importer in 1968 by Silvano Samaroli, they became one of the first bottlers to champion cask strength releases.

A limited edition of just 376 bottles, this 2018 release was lovingly crafted using rums from all over the Caribbean. These were then shipped to Scotland, where they were blended to perfection by combining the vim and vigour of the younger rums with the maturity and depth of the older ones. In a rather rebellious move, it was then re-casked to give it pep, mystery and that Samaroli uniqueness. Caribbean Soul is rich and creamy with notes of Florentine biscuits (orange peel, almonds, honey, chocolate), Christmas spices (star anise, cinnamon, ginger) and the finest salted caramel.
