About This Competition

What makes this one special, sorry, super extra special, is the balance. Balance is tricky to get with blending, quite difficult with single malt and even more uncommon with single casks. Ben Nevis has such a unique distillate character, it’s here in abundance but beautifully balanced with the wood, rounded by 26 years of maturation

Pineapple cubes, French fancies and grape soda on the nose, pineapple tarts and flaky pastry with a wee touch of nutmeg on the finish.

The label features a Japanese painting of koi carp. Why? Well for many years, several of the popular “Japanese” whiskies were actually made from Ben Nevis distillate.
