Its a legendary whisky from the undisputed kings of sherry bombs. It is named for the colony of rooks, or “parliament,” that have nested in the trees overlooking the distillery for nearly two centuries.  Launched in 2010, the 21 yr old  received a re-brand earlier this year – the golden tubes are no more & unsurprisingly, the price has been bumped up.  One of the main reasons why the 21 has been such a hit with drinkers was the open secret that the bottles actually contained whisky older than the stated 21 years. This was due to the temporary shutdown between 1996-2001, which meant that any stocks of 21 year old whisky bottled since 2018 would necessarily need to be have been distilled prior to the closure.  The bottle up for grabs is from the 2021 release, which in reality will have been aging for 25 years. Pretty cool huh?
