About This Competition

Chain Pier was a very small maker, and the first in Edinburgh to produce single malt since the 1920s. Managed by the team behind John Crabbie & Co, the whisky was made using two tiny 500 litre copper stills. A whole day’s production would barely be enough to fill two casks..! Before Chain Pier was dismantled, a total of 30 casks had been filled, making it a truly scarce, highly sought-after Scotch indeed.

This expression was distilled on 9 May 2019, and was fully matured in an Australian Shiraz cask. It was bottled just over three years later on 14 September 2022 at a hearty 57.8% ABV, with a deep, rich, tawny hue. Only 290 bottles exist.
