The Longrow 100 Proof is a relatively new release from the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown, replacing the previous Longrow Red series which ran for over a decade. This is 6-year-old whisky which has been matured for approximately 4 years in refill bourbon casks, followed by a 2-year finish in refill Pinot Noir casks & bottled at 100 proof (which is 57.1% abv according to the older, no defunct UK system of measurement). Think medicinal notes alongside earthy and musty smoke balanced with crème brûlée, vanilla, and almond richness.
