About This Competition
We take a detour from whisky to the equally impressive world of Armagnac. If, like me, the year 1983 holds some significance, then I’m sure you wouldn’t mind a 40 year old Armagnac!
Château de Laubade is an agricultural and winegrowing estate located in Sorbets, in the Gers, in the heart of the finest Bas Armagnac terroir. The 105-hectare estate in a single block around the château, built in 1870, has been in the Lesgourgues family for three generations. The magnificent château has witnessed over 150 years of history and the Armagnac produced there has become a benchmark both in France and abroad.
The “Celebration Vintages” offer a unique range of vintage Armagnacs, aged in Gascony oak barrels for 15 to 50 years. Bottled in June 2023, this is a 40 -year blend of Baco & Ugni Blanc grapes. A perfect gift for a 1983 anniversary of any kind.
