A real whisky geek’s whisky, this vatting of single malts from Dornoch and Ardnamurchan distilleries is waxy and complex with a palate of green bananas, honeydew melon, flapjacks and orange bitters. The influence of quarter casks previously used to mature peated Islay whisky adds a herbal side with light hints of smoke and fresh menthol. You’d be hard-pressed to find two distilleries more committed to producing old-school Highland whisky than these, so it’s great to see how their distinctive spirit characters combine in this one-off bottling. Only 450 bottles exist.
