About This Competition
The first bottling of Isle of Raasay Distillery from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, launched in April 2025. Distilled on the 15th of October 2020, then matured for 4 years in a 1st-fil Chinkapin Oak Barrel before being bottled at cask strength of 61.2% abv. Only 257 bottles were produced.
The Islay of Raasay distillery is a short ferry crossing from the Isle of Skye, and is the first legal distillery on this remote island. Founded by R&B Distillers in 2017, who established their name as a blender of whiskies, the distillery has stunning views back across the island towards Skye and the Cullin mountains. The distillery made its debut release in 2021 and is already looking ahead having laid down a variety of casks maturing on site.
