About This Competition

Diageo’s 2021 Special Releases selection features 8 fantastic single malt Scotch whiskies from a across their portfolio of distilleries. The theme for this year is Legends Untold, inspired by stories both real and imagined surrounding the distilleries. Hence why the labels all feature mythical creatures and the like.

This expression from the distillery affectionately known as the Beast of Dufftown is a 13 year old whisky, matured in a combination of virgin and refill American oak casks, resulting in a particularly powerful flavour profile. We are commonly presented Mortlach in sherry casks, which works great with the full-bodied and meaty profile that is loved by so many. This presentation is unusual due to its rare naked presentation. Is it good enough to make the Wolves howl?
