The Macallan Edition No. 3 is a limited-edition Speyside single malt Scotch whisky released in 2017 as the third entry in the brand’s wood-focused Edition Series. It is uniquely defined by a collaboration between Bob Dalgarno, Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker, and Roja Dove, a world-renowned Master Perfumer.
Dove used his sensory expertise to select complementary aromas from various casks, creating a whisky that emphasizes the “power of scent”. A marriage of six different American and European oak cask types, including first-fill bourbon barrels and various sherry-seasoned butts and puncheons.
