The latest Macallan bottled by SMWS. Released just last week, this is a 16 yr old whisky with a supercharged1st f double maturation. Initially matured for 10 years in oloroso butts & then transferred for 6 years into 1st fill oloroso hoggies.

If sherry bombs are your thing , then this is certainly for you! With an abv of 62.6% I was expecting this to be a hot mess. Surprisingly though, it required little to no dilution. Yes its got a big whack of spices in there as you’d expect but its all nicely enveloped in a layer of  figs & chocolate. Certifiably yum!
