This Longmorn 18 yr old single batch was released in 2023 as a replacement for the previous 48% ABV version as the distillery transitioned into a new, upscale purple-and-gold visual branding style. The revamped edition draws on 1993-distilled stock matured in American oak barrels and hogsheads, bottled at a robust cask strength of 57.6% ABV.
Founded in 1893 by John Duff — the same man behind Glenlossie and BenRiach- Longmorn has a stellar reputation amongst blenders & serious collectors. The richness and complexity that define Longmorn’s spirit come from a combination of slow distillation, a relatively high proportion of worm-tub condensing on some stills, and long fermentation times that build substantial ester complexity in the new make before it ever touches wood.
