We’re looking at the 2025 release of the Hazelburn Sherry Wood series from Springbank. Triple distilled and made using air-dried, unpeated malted barley, Hazelburn is known for its soft, elegant character. This year’s release was distilled in February 2017 and matured in Oloroso sherry casks until it was bottled in March 2025. A total of 10,500 bottles were released.
This years release has been getting some outstanding reviews. Lots of sherry obviously, but there’s also layers of sweet, sour, salty and earthy notes that elevate this above the typical sherry bomb. It feels well balanced too, well integrated for only 8 years of maturation. Very tasty indeed.
