There’s a reason why Glenlivet is the worlds best selling single malt. Don’t get me wrong, a massive marketing budget certainly helps, but underneath that lies a universally appealing floral and fruity base spirit, which of course pairs well with sherry casks. This single cask from independent bottler Signatory  is no exception. This is a first fill olorosso sherry cask filled back in 1998 & laid to rest for 25 years.

Whilst nearly all of us will have tried a core range Glenlivet, single casks from this distillery are not as easily accessible. Those who do stumble upon any cask strength bottlings are seldom disappointed. Whoever wins this bottle can expect aromas of dark chocolate and dried figs leading to a palate of toffee and spiced orange, finishing with a long, warming note.
