About This Competition
The big news this week was the new rebranding of GlenAllachie. Gone is the characteristic Flintstones font. No more dark & distinguished looking packaging either. Instead we have some revolting colours and boring slanty lines which just make the labels look a tad bit wonky. I’m not a fan, as you can tell, but I’m also probably not the consumer/demographic they are trying to attract. Hey ho…..onwards…..
Like it or not, here’s your chance at winning the very first single cask to feature the all new GlenAllachie branding! Specially selected for the UK by Billy Walker. This 2010 single cask release was aged 13 years and matured in a Madeira hogshead.
Distilled 31.08.10, bottled December 2023 . Cask no. 3805 had an outturn of just 311 bottles.
The GlenAllachie’s tasting notes…
Nose: Brandy butter, honeycomb, orchard fruits and butterscotch, with hints of orange blossom, hazelnuts, and caramelised brown sugar.
Taste: Heather honey, orange peel and burnt caramel, followed by waves of cinnamon, butterscotch and stewed orchard fruits, with a nutty bouquet on the finish.
