About This Competition

Longmorn ….if you’re new to whisky, you might not have heard of it….if you’re a seasoned whiskyphile you’re probably wincing. Longmorn is the secret ‘they’ don’t want you to know about. Quintiesstentially Speyside  & just magic in an ex-bourbon cask.

Longmorn is an essential component in many blends over the years. As such, much of its production is reserved for this purpose and although distillery bottlings first appeared in the 1980s, the distillery rarely releases anything under their own label. This 15 year old was the inaugural distillery bottling, first appearing in the 1980s & then re- introduced in 1993 as part of the Heritage Collection, which also launched new brands for Glen Keith, Benriach and Strathisla.  The 15 year age statement has been replaced by a 16 year old expression in 2007.

The distillery has long been prominent on the independent scene however, and has cult following in Japan, perhaps in no small part to its connection with Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru, who modelled the stills at Yoichi on those at Longmorn.

DRAMTIME : Never tried a Longmorn before? You’re in luck! Purchase a minimum of 3 tickets to receive a complimentary dram of  a 14 yr old Single Cask Longmorn….you will not be dissapointed
