About This Competition
We’ve never had a 30 yr old single malt before, so this is a bit of a landmark competition for M&C!
Presenting this rather elusive 30 year old from Deanston distillery just north of Glasgow. Very little public information seems to be available about this bottling. It seems like it was especially produced for exporting to the USA between 2008 -2010. This means: (a) distillation dates of 1980 or earlier; (b) we get a generous 750ml bottle. Aged mostly in ex-bourbon casks, the final 2 years were finished in oloroso sherry casks to add those creamy toffee notes.
Sure we could do with a few more details, but heck….you’ll be lucky to find 30 year old whisky for less than £500 these days so this is definitely one for bragging rights & special occassions.
