About This Competition
We promised to bring you some older vintages this month so here’s an absolute beauty from 40 years ago! Presenting a single cask Cambus from 1983.
Originally founded in 1806 to distill malt whisky, Cambus was re-equipped to become one of the first grain whisky producers in 1837. Cambus happily produced its whiskies until 1913, when a fire halted production and forced the distillery to close until its re-opening in 1938. Bottled as part of the Dead Whisky Society, which as the name suggests, focuses on silent distilleries, only 217 bottles of this magnificent 27 year old were released.
This particular bottle was also part of Pats Whisky Collection – a 9000 bottle collection which was sold for £4.5million on Whisky Auctioneer in 2021. Lets just say that this bottle is worthy of adding to anyone’s collection.
