About This Competition

We thought we would do something a bit different this month to celebrate World Whisky Day on May 15th. Its time to focus on whisky’s true purpose – to be consumed, shared & appreciated for all its notes.

We kick things off with my favorite Islay distillery – Bunnahabhain. Often overshadowed by its bigger, bolder neighbours, Bunna’s make for consistently fantastic drinkers. Those who shy away from intense smoke & peat will find safe refuge in many of their core releases, and yet the Islay magic is still very much present in the distillate.  Ever so often though, they release a few casks of their peated goodness, lovingly called Staoisha.

Presenting, 2 bottles of the latest Staoisha, distilled in 2014 and bottled by Duncan Taylor. To make things even more interesting, this was finished for 9 months in a sherry octave. Young Bunna + peat + sherry = Delightful dram. With only 96 bottles produced, this is sure to be a unique addition to your drinking cabinet.
