About This Competition

Every year Bunnahabhain, along with their Distell cousins Deanston & Tobermory, produce an annual limited release whisky. These releases are delicious and I am a proud owner of each bottle in the series since its inception back in 2013.  In fact these annual releases played a big part in catapulting Buna to the top of my favorite distillery list.

This year’s release is called the Aonadh, meaning ‘Union’ in Gaelic. It is a vatting of ex-port cask and ex-sherry cask finished whisky and shall undoubtedly be superb,

Sadly, according to my research, the Aonadh also has the dubious accolade of being the most expensive 10 year old whisky ever brought to market! A lot of fans have been put off by the obnoxious price tag, especially given the relatively large outturn.

However this makes the Aonadh the perfect candidate for a competition. At only £3.49 a ticket, it really is a much more affordable fraction of the price.
