About This Competition

One of the standout distilleries for me in 2021 has been Ardnamurchan. Not only did I manage to visit the stunning peninsula this past spring but I’ve also had the pleasure of trying several of their releases. All have been most enjoyable. The time has come to feature our first Ardnamurchan on the site; and boy is it a good pick!

Bottled at a natural strength of 59.4% and non-chill filtered (of course!), this seven year old unpeated beauty is Ardnamurchan’s oldest release yet and comes from a single first-fill Oloroso butt which yielded 655 bottles. A generous yield by conventional standards, but tragically insufficient to satisfy the whisky fiends of this land. Word on the street is, that the 339 is THE best offering from this distillery to date. Just as well we’ve managed to secure a solitary bottle for one lucky member. Trust me, you do not want to sit this one out!
