How about a double – bottle prize for a change?  Today we have 2 releases from the Thompson Brothers – both from the Islands, but strikingly different & extremely fitting for the season. The ‘Pride of Islay’ is a 12-year old unpeated Bunnahabhain. This special small-batch vatting is distinguished by its unique maturation profile, having spent its final 5 years finishing in first-fill Madeira wine barriques. The result is a rich & full-bodied nectar perfect as a warming, post-dinner tipple to accompany the footie highlights.

The ‘Pride of the Hebrides’ is a 20-year old Jura bottled exclusively for the Whisky Show in London.  I know, i know …it is a Jura….but for all its faults, independently bottled Jura tends to be a very diffrent calibre. It is doubly reassuring that Serge from WhiskyFun has rated this an impressive 91 points. Aged entirely in a 2nd-fill barrel, this heavily peated beauty leads with smoky bacon and buttered toast on the nose. The creamy palate opens up with a fruit medley, cinder toffee, & barbecued apples. Perfect for those dark & breezy days to add a little oomph in your step. ,

Theres also 20 instant win drams of the sold out Dornoch whisky fest bottle: a 10-yr old bourbon cask Cynelish.
